Semi Custom Quilting

Semi custom quilting involves placing a special design in the outer borders while quilting a pantograph on the inside of the quilt or by creating no-sew zones.

Semi Custom Quilting

Custom quilting is very time consuming, detailed and elegant. Pricing will vary with the level of intricacy.

Preparing your quilt for the longarm

There are steps you must take to properly complete and prepare your quilt and backing for quilting.

Press your quilt top and backing thoroughly. Make sure all seams are pressed flat or the direction you intended. If the backing is pieced, press the seam open. Fold it carefully or hang it on a clothes hanger.

Clip loose threads on all seams as they may show through a lighter backing fabric.

Square up your backing fabric and make sure it is at least 6" bigger than your top. For example, if your quilt is 72" x 84", your backing should measure 78" x 90".

Shipping is available upon request. Batting and backing fabrics are available for purchase at my studio. You can fill out this order form prior to drop off to expedite our visit.

Simple Edge to Edge over your entire quilt, one simple pattern with 1 color thread.

.04 cents per square inch

Semi Custom is a combination of an overall edge to edge pattern with some custom borders and one thread color.

.06-.08 cents per square inch

Custom quilting includes up to 3 thread colors and varies in price due to the complexity of the design.
